HOW TO BE ORGANIZED IN YOUR HOME AND OFFICE

How To Stay Organized was one of my first blog posts in 2017. I received so much great feedback I wanted to share those very well thought out tips with you again to kick off my How To Series this November. A lot of us are already prepping for 2018 so to look back at these ideas and cross them off your list is a great idea. I say this as I am doing this right now!

Every day throughout the month of November I will be sharing all of my knowledge and expertise with you here on my blog, my Medium page and in the Just For Us Community. Thirty-One topics which I have categorized under five different subjects. How to be and stay organized, business tips, beauty tricks, travel planning as well as health and wellness knowledge.

Below are the specified weeks and as I said new posts will be up every day each week! By the way, if you have a friend you would like to share this info with please do. And add them to the Just For Us Community Private Facebook Group here. Sharing is Caring and that is my personal goal this November. Share. Share. Share…

Week One: November 1-4: Get Organized

Week Two: November 5-11: Business

Week Three: November 12-18: Beauty

Week Four: November 19-25: Travel

Week Five: November 26-30: Health and Wellness

If you don’t have time to read each day I will be sending links in my weekly newsletter which you can sign up for right here.

I have been wanting to do this for quite some time and thrilled to be able to share with you now!

Below are a few tasks that I have completed in my personal life, my office area as well as online and on my devices. I have done this quarterly throughout 2017 to keep me on my toes and will continue through 2018. So don’t stress about getting it all done at once. Just start! Light your favorite candle, put on your favorite music and get this organizing party started today!

Office

Shredded $15 worth of unneeded paperwork, notebooks and tax info from years past. Not sure why I didn’t do this years ago. I was shredding docs from 1998. Really?

Created a new Vision Board for 2017. I change these monthly. If you want to check the one I completed today check out my IG Stories right here. I’ll be doing the same in 2018. I am a very visual person so if I have something to look at every day it helps me stay focused. I have post-its on a cork board and goals I want to reach. I even have my favorite fortunes from cookies. Yes I collect them!

Got rid of battery packs, chargers and electronics that were no longer working. Really not sure why I had a freezer bag full of these. Set up an EBay store and sell them if they do work!

Organized folders, office supplies and paperwork. Labels, sharpies decorative boxes, glass jars or vases and paperclips are best for this. I just cleaned out a storage unit so this took the longest but felt so good when I finished.

Created a special space for all of my journals. These are my pride and joy.

Put together a 12 month plan/calendar so I can see everyday what I need to be working towards and to stay ahead of the game. I have always focused on a month at a time. This year I wanted to map out my year and focus on quarterly goals. So far it’s working out for me.

Put away all my old planners and set up my new one for 2017. I’ve just started this project for 2018. For some reason I still cannot part with a few of these but at least they are all in one place now. My new planner however is amazing and I am obsessed with it! The best part is that my best friend gave it to me as a Christmas gift. I am extremely picky with my planners and she bought the exact style I love and it has anchors all over it. Love that touch of style as I am originally from RI so the anchor holds a close place to my heart. I’m always posting it on my Instagram. That’s how much I LOVE it! Side note. I just read there are only 5 more Fridays until Christmas 2017 which is insane. I am so not ready for the holidays just yet…

Set up a work schedule for myself so that I do not feel overwhelmed with my workload. I am one to stay on my computer for 12-14 hours at a time which is awful. I know I can’t do that anymore so I have set up times to be on, then research then back on then prep meals, work out etc.

Personal

Donated two suitcases worth of clothes, shoes, and misc items to Goodwill. I know I have more this is just the beginning. I also have a collection of medicine bottles growing to donate to a country who recycles them. I just found out about this charity. I wish I knew about it in May. I would have 100 bottles by now. Update. That charity no longer exists but #capsforwheels does so I will be donating them thee as well as plastic water bottle caps.

Created a new Happiness Board for 2017. I like to have a cork board for work and a cork board for ME! This includes quotes, pictures, just anything that puts a smile on my face ? I also update this monthly.

Add a new thought for my Happiness Jar daily. I created this in December and have been putting a new thought in every day. When you are having a tough day just or at the end of the year you pull out your thoughts and read them.

Journal every single morning. I’ve been doing this since July 2014. These journal entries have now become part of The Happy Workaholic Podcast. You can listen to the latest show right here…

Trying to eat gluten free, dairy free, sugar free and intake less meat products weekly. I can absolutely see the changes in my body when eating this way. I know it is best for my health so trying my best to stick with it. I just incorporated Bulletproof Coffee this week and I feel a difference just after having two cups. It is crazy!

Walk at much as I can throughout the week. I’ve gone the past two days in a row. I am so sore right now but on a mission to get back out there today. I tune up my music and power walk for about 3-4 miles. Trying to do 5X this week. Wish me luck…

Meditate daily. Even if for only ten minutes. I go through phases with this. Going to get back on track this week.

Online

Completed a re-brand of kellyanngorman.com.

Updated every single social media page I have. It’s very important to keep your brand and message consistent all across the board. I just finished my Pinterest boards this morning.

Unsubscribed from hundreds of emails that I no longer needed.

Deleted emails and social media accounts that I no longer used.

Created thank you messages for all my new followers in the notes section on my phone. I have thousands to thank so this message makes it so much easier to do.

Computer

Put together an Excel Spreadsheet to track all of my social media, LinkedIn and newsletter subscribers. I tally them every Monday night and at the end of the month to see which outlet is working best for me. I started doing this in a notebook a few months ago but decided an Excel sheet would be best!

Backed up all files in two different places. 10 years of digital files takes forever. Times two!

Organized desktop. I went from 20 folders to 6. Looks so clean now!

Took off all notification pop ups.

Cleaned up task bar!

Phone

Deleted apps I haven’s used in a few months.

Deleted email accounts I no longer needed on phone.

Deleted notes I did not need.

Organized photos into new albums and deleted one the one I did not use.

Organized my iBooks App.

Tablet

Took off all social media and unused apps. I like to use my tablet to watch my webinars or videos while I work on my computer. I use my phone for social media and music. Three devices at once is normal right?

Well that’ it. I still have a few more to check off my list but I think I am off to a great start. I feel so much better working in my space now. Try it! And again leave me a comment below if you need some help or another tip. I would love to help you out…

HOW TO STAY ORGANIZED IN 2017

Hello and Happy Monday!

A couple of my friends who run online businesses like myself have been asking me what I do to stay organized. How I prepped for 2017. So I thought that I would share my tips and how to stay organized throughout 2017 with you here. I also want to say that I am one of the most organized people you will ever meet and I still had work to be done so please know that this “stuff” takes time. Little by little you will be able to cross more off that list and eventually feel lighter and leaner in your work and personal space like I do now!

Below are a few tasks that I have completed in my personal life, my office area as well as online and on my devices. I have also decided to continue doing this quarterly throughout 2017 to keep me on my toes. So don’t stress about getting it all done at once. Just start! Fun. Fearless. Focused.

A couple of months ago I created a private Facebook group called Fun. Fearless. Focused.

Originally this group was only for my 15 Steps To Success and 11 Lessons through LinkedIn clients. However, a few weeks ago I decided to open it up to other Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs like myself. Woman who just want to meet other woman whether they work, in the middle of a career change, book or move. This is the place for you.

This platform will allow everyone to network as well as keep each other inspired and motivated. A place to find that work/life balance. A place to laugh and learn with some new friends online.

And I would love for YOU to be a part of it!

Starting next Friday I will be going LIVE! Probably around 6pm PST. I have so many topics I want to discuss with you. So many tips and tricks of (a few trades) I want to share with you.

I plan on doing my LIVE videos every Friday (schedule permitting). My list of topics is quickly growing and cannot wait to share them. I am really looking forward to this and hope you will join us. Also, please feel free to share this post. The more the merrier in this group 🙂

See you on Friday the 13th!

TOP 10 TO-DO’S DURING CES 2017

CES has Las Vegas busier than ever! With over 150,000 here from around the world the energy is high and so is this wind today! If you have yet to arrive the runways are packed and the winds may have a delay in you landing so please plan ahead.

CES is a global consumer electronics and consumer technology tradeshow that takes place every January here in Las Vegas and I wanted to share some of my favorite things to do in town as well as give you a few tips if you are new to our city!

TOP 10 TO-DO’S DURING CES 2017

  1. Bellagio Fountain Show at night is a must! Be sure to have lots of battery on your devices because you are going to want to film it if you are a first timer!
  2. The Las Vegas Monorail is one of the best ways to get to and from the convention. Less stress waiting for cars and rides in valet! The traffic is crazy. Take the monorail and actually enjoy your coffee on the way to the convention. It is also a great place to network. Just saying…
  3. The Eiffel Tower Restaurant at the Paris Hotel and Casino has the best views of the strip, champagne and the Bellagio Fountain show may I add. You can also purchase a ticket to ride the elevator to the top of the Eiffel Tower for picture taking.
  4. Maverick Helicopters has an excellent strip view tour. Invite a few friends and go for a short flight in your own private helicopter.
  5. If you are staying anywhere near Mandalay Bay visit the Foundation Room upstairs for a cocktail, a dance and a view of the strip from the outside patio.
  6. Speaking of Mandalay Bay…If you are staying on the Delano side an early morning visit to 3940 Coffee and Tea is recommended. The have the best fresh juice and lots of outlets to charge up your phones and plush couches to sit and catch up on emails. Great decor for some Snaps and Insta pics too!
  7. Restaurants: Bardot Brasserie at Aria, SW Steakhouse at Wynn, Nobu at Caesars Palace, Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak at The Mirage, Giada at The Cromwell, Yellowtail at Bellagio and High Tea at Mandarin Oriental if you can make it in the afternoon!
  8. Sprinkles Cupcake or Ghirardelli at The Linq for your sweet tooth! Also, take a ride on the High Roller while you are there. Again, at night for best views of the strip.

9. Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. Beautiful. Just go you will understand. There is nothing like it. You will also want to take pics of the incredible glass ceiling in the lobby designed by Dale Chihuly. Dale’s work can also be found at Aria.

10. After all the walking and hydrating this week you will need to take a break and recharge. If you have the time I would suggest Canyon Ranch SpaClub at The Venitian and The Palazzo. If you don’t have the time or budget for full spa day with treatments you can still enjoy the amenities all day for less than $100.

TIPS

Make reservations everywhere! There are a lot of companies that buy out venues and restaurants this week!

Bring your battery pack charged and with you everywhere!

Have cash on you to tip!

Contact me here if you have any questions or need any more info on booking.

Ladies. Bring flats or visit a Rollasole (roll up fold up shoes) vending machine. They are amazing and will definitely fit in your bag.

TIPS FOR CES 2018

Fly in a day ahead. Especially if you are flying private. The runways get so full and divert you to North Las Vegas and the traffic to the strip could be a nightmare.

Make reservations or venue buy out plans at least 6 months prior for any restaurant or nightclub event. Some companies will be booking this week for next year’s events. That is the demand!

Everyone will be waiting in lines for Uber, Lyft and cabs. Hire a driver! It is worth the money. No lines. No stress. And great service!

Again contact me if you have any questions or assistance in booking…

Wishing you a wonderful CES!

CHANGE IS GOOD…

Happy Monday! It is a very exciting day for me! Today I get to officially launch my brand new upgraded website. New year, new me, new brand. Me! It honestly took everything in my power for me to stick to my design schedule I set for myself. There were a couple hiccups but I made it through. So for that I am enjoying an extra large iced coffee right now! Who’s with me on the caffeine?

Starting off the new year on time feels fantastic. I am feeling a little bit proud right now I must say. Hard work definitely pays off! I’ve always been extremely organized however this year I am running my business a little bit differently. A lot lighter and leaner (I’ll explain later). This allows me to start a lot of projects from scratch. And I have all the calendars, planners, post-its, folders and notebooks to prove it! I’ll be sharing those with you later this month…

I would love for you to look around the new site and let me know what you think. And if you want you can read my AMBITIOUS post from yesterday which explains why you would want to come back and what I have in store for this year!

A lot more content and a lot more laughs. I can promise you that! Aghhh…Change feels so good. Have you made any changes recently let me know in the comments below…

Whether you are answering hundreds of emails at a desk or still tucked away in bed just know that I’m sending some warm wishes to you for a successful new year!

PS Don’t forget to subscribe for updates and I’ll see you soon…

AMBITIOUS

“You need to understand that life isn’t what you’re given, it’s what you create, what you conquer and what you aim to achieve.”

Ambitious. adjective. Having or showing a strong desire and determination to succeed.

I wish I knew who owned the words mentioned above because I would like to give them credit for it. I came across the quote this morning and have been reading it over and over again. It just really resonates with me and “my” life as of right now.

Ambitious is a word that I am loving right now. A word that truly describes my personality. A word that will also determine my 2017. It is amazing once you have set a clear vision and path for yourself what power one little word can have. I challenge you to find a word that will describe your 2017. Trust me. It’s quite tough but I promise you worth it to have one…

So you may have noticed you are on a new site! Surprise and welcome! I am thrilled you are here and hope you come back often. I’ll be doing the “official’ launch tomorrow!

I spent a lot of time off my computer in December so that I could be in full creative mode. I needed a space to figure out where I wanted to be personally and professionally in 2017. At the end of the day and after the countless brainstorming sessions I had with myself…They all led me back here! Online.

I want to be online. I want to network and be visible and meet other entrepreneurs. I want to help other businesses succeed and support their goals. I also want to share my knowledge and experiences with everyone and vice versa. And here is where you will find all of that!

I have had to close a few doors in order for this new one to open. I shed many tears when doing so but know that there is a reason for this. And I can officially say I am now ok with it all!

There a lot of “I”s here but honestly it is more for you than for me. If you know anything about me or my careers in the past, you know they have not been the norm. I mean how do you explain to someone that you worked on over 50 yachts and cruise ships doing makeup or fluffing pillows and then flying around the country. That being said all of these crazy career choices have led me to where I really want to be and that is here with you reading this!

My brand is now myself and I feel like the more open and honest I am on my posts, the better understanding you will have about why you would want to come back to my site every day.

Here are a few reasons why…

  1. I will be blogging every day Monday through Friday. Tuesday and Thursday posts can be found on my LinkedIn page. Monday, Wednesday, Friday will be right here.
  2. When you subscribe to my site you will receive my weekly newsletter delivered to your inbox every Wednesday! Filled with exclusives, news and giveaways that you will get to hear about first!
  3. If you are looking for anything luxury travel or Las Vegas experience related those questions can absolutely be answered here. Planning itineraries is one of my favorite tasks to do!
  4. You will see some partnerships here with brands I love you may or may not be aware of. Posting this info will allow me to share something else with you.
  5. Building brand awareness and businesses, social media and LinkedIn is honestly one of my favorite things to do online for my clients. Turning a dream or vision into a reality for someone is such an adrenaline rush for me. This is why I know I am doing something right!
  6. Over the last six months I have gone through a lot of health issues which has led me to this “lifestyle” blog. I wanted a platform that could help me get the word out on delicious recipes that need sharing, a new business or inspirational book, a motivational quote I cannot stop reading. Any and everything that needs to be out there in the universe. Connecting people with products or passions make my heart smile. Seriously! It does. OK now I’m getting emotional. Hey it’s a New Year! It’s allowed.

So there it is. My first post of 2017. My favorite quote, my 2017 word and 6 reasons why you should come back and visit! (insert wink).

Wishing you a happy, healthy, positive and productive 2017!

Cheers!
